It is upon us again, the premier league is back for the second weekend since the international break. And what a weekend it will be, expect lots of goals. Glamour tie of the weekend obviously being the match at Anfield on Saturday. Liverpool go up against Chelsea in a game that is considered a must win for both sides if they are to keep their ambitions alive.
CRYSTAL PALACE VS STOKE
It is a worrying time to be a Crystal Palace fan, results haven’t drastically improved since Roy Hodgson arrived. But in all fairness he hasn’t got much to work with. With that being said, the likes of Christian Benteke and Wilfried Zaha have too much talent to be stuck at a club dwelling at the bottom of the league. Stoke on the other hand will see this as an opportunity to get back to winning ways after back to back draws in their last two games. Its a great opportunity for them to gain some confidence and surge up the league.

Prediction: Crystal Palace 1-3 Stoke. More misery for Crystal Palace.
MANCHESTER UNITED VS BRIGHTON & HOVE ALBION
With the return of Paul Pogba and Zlatan Ibrahimovic last week seeing them secure a 4-1 win against Newcastle, Manchester United will be attempting to gain ground on run away leaders in the for of Manchester City. They welcome a Brighton side that sit in 9th place and have obtained 9 points from their last 5 games. Again in theory, United’s quality should see off Brighton quite easily, but the seaside club are no pushovers this year, they will be up for a fight. It will be a matter of patience for United if they are to win. At the same time they have to be wary of the counter attack.

Prediction: Manchester United 2-0 Brighton & Hove Albion. Too much quality in the United side to not win. Must win if they want to catch City.
NEWCASTLE UNITED VS WATFORD
Newcastle of late have had a bad run of results with the only excusable result being the loss to Manchester United. The other two games against and Burnley and Bournemouth were ties they could be winning. 3 losses in a row see them looking unlikely to get a result against a Watford side that have been looking particularly shaky too. Reason being that after witnessing their performance against Chelsea, they have shown signs of being a side that can produce some special play. That being said, Newcastle themselves have had good passages of play too.

Prediction: Newcastle United 2-2 Watford. the points shared, not a bad result for both.
TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR VS WEST BROMWICH ALBION
Spurs were beaten in a shock defeat at the Emirates last weekend with some dubious decisions made in the run up to the goals. But what better way to react to a loss to your rivals? A thrashing of a side in complete disarray and recently manager-less. Honestly, can anyone seeing Spurs losing this one, coming up against a WBA side that have 1 point from 5 games. With both Dele Alli and Harry Kane failing to hit the back of the net in last weeks North London Derby they will both be keen to hit back and get back to winning ways. Manager-less West Bromwich should no bother for Spurs, I expect it to be an easy game.

Prediction: Tottenham Hotspur 4-0 West Bromwich Albion. Spurs have too much quality, not to mention the fact WBA are in a shocking run of form.
LIVERPOOL VS CHELSEA
A tough game lies ahead for Chelsea when they take to the Anfield pitch on Saturday, with a Liverpool side that boast some serious firepower going forward. The firepower in question features an inform Mohammed Salah who’s scored a league best 9 goals so far this season. A tough test is in store for César Azpilicueta and co. Where Chelsea may hold an advantage would be the ability they too have going forward coupled with Liverpool’s defensive vulnerability, could spell a successful day for the blues. Eden Hazard is in some fine form also, impressing in both the Champions league and Premier League. Liverpool will obviously be wary of Chelsea’s main man paired with the summer signing success in the form of Alvaro Morata, who has himself has chalked up an impressive 8 league goals so far this season.

Prediction: Liverpool 0-2 Chelsea. A battle of the defences, which in theory Chelsea should win.
SOUTHAMPTON VS EVERTON
Southampton will be looking to bounce back from a 3-0 lose to Liverpool last week with a strong showing against the woeful Everton. The Merseyside club do really look lost at the moment with no signs of leadership appearing from anywhere. If we are to really clutch at straws for a positive for Everton it would be the fact they’ve secured 4 points from their last 2 games, which could be signs of revival. Southampton themselves haven’t been in fine form either, with only 5 points coming from their last 5 games. Both will be looking to making a statement of intent to their fans, more desperately by Everton.

Prediction: Southampton 2-1 Everton. A cagey last 15 minutes as Everton grab one back but it won’t be enough.
BURNLEY VS ARSENAL
Coming off a the high of beating their North London rivals the week before, Arsenal will be looking to kick on and get back to challenging for a spot in the top four by getting a win away to Burnley. It will be no easy feat though as Shaun Dyche’ men have won the last 3 games in a row and find themselves a place behind Arsenal. They are also within a point of the top four. Burnley are certainly overachieving and will hope they can ride their luck and secure an unlikely win against a side that has the quality but lacks consistency in recent weeks. Arsenal will have to graft hard to get a result as Burnley will definitely be up for this tie.

Prediction: Burnley 1-1 Arsenal. A tough tie for both but a point will go a long way for Burnley.
HUDDERSFIELD VS MANCHESTER CITY
You can fully expect Manchester City to extend their unbeaten streak to 13 games with plenty of goals to go with it. The only small obstruction that could possibly effect it takes before City bag three goals (as they inevitably will), is Huddersfield resistance against big sides at home. For example the Manchester United game early on in the season, where they secured a 2-1 win. They held strong enough to hold off a now formidable United strike force in the form of Martial, Lukaku and Rashford. In regards to this weekends fixture, i’m not so sure Huddersfield’ defence will be able to withstand a city side that boasts an untouchable Kevin De Bruyne and such a side that has scored an unrivalled 40 goals this season. KDB along with a player of the month Leroy Sane is truly a frightening prospect.

Prediction: Huddersfield 0-4 Manchester City. The Manchester side will be just too strong.
